Odisha Government Greenlights 19 Industrial Projects Worth ₹3,280 Crore: A Boost for Employment

The Odisha government has recently approved 19 industrial investment proposals totaling ₹3,280 crore, which are anticipated to create over 10,661 jobs. The projects span various sectors, including textiles, biofuels, and tourism, showcasing the state's commitment to fostering economic growth and sustainable development. Chief Secretary Anu Garg highlighted the importance of these investments in enhancing local resources and building supply chains. This initiative marks a significant step towards boosting employment and economic opportunities in the region.

Significant Investment for Job Creation


Bhubaneswar: On Tuesday, the Odisha government sanctioned 19 industrial investment initiatives totaling ₹3,280 crore, which are projected to generate approximately 10,661 jobs, as reported by officials.


The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), led by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, endorsed these projects spanning various sectors such as textiles, food processing, steel, biofuels, and tourism.


Among the notable proposals, the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) plans to set up compressed biogas production facilities across eight districts, including Baleshwar and Kalahandi, with an investment of ₹960 crore.


Additionally, Shri Dakshineshwari Maa Polyfabs Ltd aims to create a manufacturing unit for woven and non-woven fabrics in Khordha, investing ₹401.63 crore.


The state panel also approved a ₹170 crore biofuel project and Tata Power's global capability center initiative worth ₹54.31 crore.


Furthermore, the government has given the green light to five hotel projects totaling ₹767 crore, two food processing units valued at ₹220 crore, and several other projects in textiles and steel, amounting to ₹184 crore and ₹350.81 crore respectively.


Other approved proposals include two chemical production units worth ₹122.64 crore and a circular economy project estimated at ₹50.15 crore.


Garg emphasized, "We are promoting investments that enhance local resources, develop supply chains, and foster sustainable economic growth. The state is dedicated to facilitating a smooth transition from proposal to execution for investors."
