Kinetic's Electric Scooter Revival: Testing Phase Underway

Kinetic's Return to the Two-Wheeler Market

Kinetic is gearing up for a resurgence in the two-wheeler sector with a new range of Electric Vehicles (EVs). Recent reports indicated that the company has filed a design patent for a scooter that seems to be a modern take on the classic Kinetic DX. Following the patent application, the scooter has now been seen undergoing testing.

While the scooter was camouflaged during its test runs, it retained the design elements reminiscent of the original model. It showcases a boxy shape and closely mirrors the classic Kinetic Honda DX. The headlight and body panels further emphasize its connection to the earlier version.

The scooter was captured by Autocar, revealing red stitching across the seat. According to their findings, the scooter is painted in red, which could be an attractive option for potential buyers.

Mechanical Features and Specifications

Images circulating online suggest that the upcoming scooter will likely be equipped with a hub-mounted motor, front disc brakes, and a dual shock absorber system. This hub-mounted setup indicates that its performance may be comparable to models like the iQube and Chetak.

Given that the test model appears ready for production, it is anticipated that the EV scooter could soon enter the market. As Kinetic re-enters a competitive landscape, the pricing is expected to be around Rs 1 lakh. This places it in direct competition with the TVS iQube, Ola's electric scooters, and the Honda Activa E.
