Job Interview Experience Sparks Outrage Among Job Seekers
A Disheartening Job Interview Tale
New Delhi. A software developer's experience at a walk-in interview in Noida turned into a frustrating ordeal when he was left waiting for eight hours only to be sent home without an interview. Searching for a job in Noida is no small feat, with thousands arriving daily, many leaving empty-handed. However, the incident involving this tech professional has become a talking point, especially after a post on Reddit went viral. The developer shared that out of approximately 100 candidates, only six were selected for the CEO round for a position offering an annual salary of ₹3 lakh (₹25,000 per month).
The CEO round was scheduled to start at 11 AM and included a group discussion, two technical rounds, and an HR round. Initially, everything seemed to be going smoothly, but what transpired later raised serious questions about workplace culture.
Where is Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera? Raids at his home, arrest likely?
The software engineer recounted on Reddit that by 2 PM, the group discussion and the first technical round had concluded. By 4 PM, the second technical round was also done, and most candidates had already left. Only six out of the 100 candidates remained for the CEO round. They thought they were nearing the end of the process, but then the waiting began. Time passed without any updates, and candidates started to leave one by one. Finally, at 6:45 PM, the CEO round commenced, but only the six selected candidates were present, having learned that the CEO was delayed due to a meeting.
Interview Over in Seconds
When it was finally their turn, the software engineer reported that the conversation lasted mere seconds. The CEO glanced at the resume and remarked, 'What is this? I see nothing here.' The candidate responded, 'Sir, everything is clearly written.' Without asking any questions, the CEO concluded the interview, stating it was done. There was no discussion or inquiry. This news is being read on a viral platform. The candidate felt that the interview was less about assessing skills and more about testing how much humiliation he could endure. After a brief pause, he decided to leave.
Sometimes Not Getting Selected is a Blessing
The candidate further expressed in his post that he was not writing out of disappointment. Sometimes, we normalize things that should not be accepted. An interview should be a two-way process. If a company does not respect your time, it gives you your answer. Sometimes, not being selected is for the best.
Following the viral post, social media users have been sharing their reactions. One user commented on the hassle for a salary of ₹25,000. Another noted that with five rounds, a ₹3 lakh annual salary, and a bond, it should have been clear to stay home instead.
