Progress on India-US Trade Agreement

On July 13, Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal announced that the framework for the trade agreement between India and the United States is prepared and is just waiting for the opportune moment to be signed. Last month, India's Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held discussions with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer regarding the proposed trade deal. Agrawal expressed confidence, stating, "We do not foresee any obstacles in the negotiations for the India-US trade deal. Consultations are moving forward positively, and both parties are optimistic. The framework for the India-US trade deal is ready to be signed when the time is right. Our trade relations are strengthening, particularly with increased energy imports from the US."
