India Achieves Record FDI of $94.53 Billion in 2025-26: A Milestone for Economic Growth

New Delhi: The Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in India has reached an unprecedented level of USD 94.53 billion for the fiscal year 2025-26. Cumulative FDI inflows from 2014 to 2026 have now totaled USD 843 billion, as announced by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday.
Goyal highlighted that by March 31, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes have attracted actual investments amounting to Rs 2.40 lakh crore, with production and sales hitting Rs 23.8 lakh crore and exports reaching Rs 15.2 lakh crore. These initiatives have also created over 14.6 lakh jobs, both direct and indirect.
Key sectors such as electronics, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, automobiles, IT hardware, and specialty steel have seen substantial gains from the PLI schemes, according to the minister.
In a social media update, Goyal remarked, "The figures present a positive narrative. India has achieved its highest annual FDI inflow of USD 94.53 billion in FY 2025-26, while total FDI from FY 2014-15 to FY 2025-26 stands at USD 843 billion." This announcement coincides with the 12th anniversary of the 'Make in India' initiative on September 25.
He further mentioned that greenfield industrial smart cities are being developed nationwide under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, aimed at enhancing infrastructure for competitive global manufacturing.
Goyal noted that reforms to improve the Ease of Doing Business have streamlined regulations and lessened compliance burdens, while advancements in critical sectors have opened new avenues for investment and manufacturing. He also pointed out that over 470 crore orders have been processed through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
