Gold Prices Fluctuate Amid Rising Geopolitical Tensions
Current Trends in Gold Pricing
Gold prices are experiencing significant volatility as geopolitical tensions between Iran and Israel create uncertainty in global markets. Traditionally viewed as a safe-haven asset, gold is once again showing sharp fluctuations in both domestic and futures markets. On March 3, the price for 24-carat gold in India was reported at Rs 1,68,692, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,54,631. Additionally, 18-carat gold was available for Rs 1,26,528. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures concluded at Rs 1,66,199, reflecting an increase of Rs 4,095.00 or 2.53% during Monday's trading session. This recent rise follows a record high earlier this year, when gold futures peaked at Rs 1,80,779 per 10 grams on January 29. Such dramatic price movements underscore the heightened fluctuations in the bullion market over recent weeks. Analysts suggest that the ongoing geopolitical tensions have significantly boosted investor interest in gold, reinforcing its status as a protective asset against instability. The current volatility indicates that traders are closely observing global events before making new investments.
