In a video message, Chadha expressed that this day marks a significant achievement for gig workers, as the Central government has abolished the '10-minute delivery' branding used by private companies.

Chadha credited the gig workers for their collective efforts in bringing about this change, noting that the government responded to their concerns despite the negligence of private firms.

He expressed gratitude towards the Central government for stepping in, highlighting the dangers associated with the '10-minute delivery' promise.

Chadha pointed out that the pressure to meet such deadlines can lead to dangerous driving behaviors, putting both delivery riders and other road users at risk.

He shared that many gig workers he spoke with reported feeling overworked and underpaid, burdened by the unrealistic expectations of rapid delivery.

Chadha emphasized that no parliamentarian opposes private companies, but there is a genuine concern regarding the exploitation of gig workers.

He assured gig workers that the government's decision would enhance their safety and dignity, marking a pivotal moment for improving their working conditions.

Earlier, Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya met with representatives from major food delivery and quick-commerce platforms, urging them to eliminate strict delivery time commitments to prioritize the safety of delivery personnel.

Following this intervention, Blinkit has reportedly removed its '10-minute delivery' claim from its branding.

All companies involved have committed to removing such delivery-time promises from their advertisements and social media.
