Keynote Address at the Rising Northeast Summit
Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, spoke at the Rising Northeast Summit held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today, highlighting the critical role of the Northeast in India's economic advancement.
In his speech, Adani remarked, "In the last ten years, the North-East has been witnessing a new chapter in India's growth narrative, characterized by diversity, resilience, and untapped potential. This transformation is driven by a leader who sees no boundaries, only new beginnings. Prime Minister, your call to 'act east, act fast, act first' has awakened the North-East."
Investment and Infrastructure Development
While commending Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Adani noted, "With 65 personal visits and an investment of Rs 6.2 lakh crores since 2014, we have doubled the road network to 16,000 kilometers and increased the number of airports to 18. This reflects not just policy but a vision rooted in 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas.'"

Adani also announced an additional investment of Rs 50,000 crores for the Northeast, stating, "Three months ago in Assam, we committed to investing Rs 50,000 crore. Today, inspired by your leadership, I am pleased to announce that the Adani Group will invest another Rs 50,000 crore in the Northeast over the next decade."

Inauguration of the Rising Northeast Summit
The Rising Northeast Investors Summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in New Delhi. This two-day event aims to showcase the Northeast as a hub of opportunities and attract both global and domestic investments.
During the summit's opening, PM Modi stated, "There was a time when the Northeast was merely viewed as a frontier region. Today, it is emerging as a leader in growth. Improved infrastructure enhances tourism appeal and boosts investor confidence. We have initiated an infrastructure revolution in the Northeast, transforming it into a land of opportunities with stronger connectivity."
