From Selling Vegetables to Owning a Million-Dollar Company: The Inspiring Journey of Dilkhush Kumar
A Remarkable Transformation
Success is rarely achieved overnight; it is the result of relentless hard work and dedication. Many individuals around the globe have reached significant heights through their perseverance. Today, we will share the story of a man who once sold vegetables on the streets of Patna and drove a rickshaw.
This same individual is now the owner of a multimillion-dollar company. We are talking about Dilkhush Kumar, the founder of 'Arya Go Cab Service,' who has carved out a unique identity in society through hard work, providing employment to many, and amassing wealth.
Starting His Own Company After Rejections
Dilkhush Kumar hails from a small village called Bangawan in the Saharsa district, where his father worked as a bus driver. He completed his education up to the 12th grade and applied for a peon position in Patna, but faced rejection. He encountered several rejections from various places.
During this challenging time, he launched 'Roadbez,' a database company that offers taxi services in Bihar. Unlike existing companies like Ola and Uber, Roadbez caters specifically to those needing outstation travel, charging only for one-way trips.
Innovative Approach to Taxi Services
In a recent interview, Dilkhush shared, "We connect all aggregators, travel agencies, and individual taxi operators in Bihar, allowing them to inform us about their routes. This way, we can match them with passengers traveling in the same direction, significantly benefiting customers by reducing taxi fares by up to 40%. What used to cost around 4000 rupees now ranges between 2200 to 2400 rupees, saving customers at least 1500 rupees per ride."
The Birth of Roadbez
Dilkhush explained that his background was primarily in driving. He initially started 'Arya Go Cab,' which was doing well in Bihar, but later shifted focus to the Roadbez concept. When he launched Roadbez, he had only a second-hand Nano car, and within 6 to 7 months, they raised funding at a valuation of 4 crores, with over 1.25 lakh visits to their platform.
This growth indicates a rapid advancement in Bihar, where there are ample opportunities. Dilkhush aims to elevate Roadbez to a valuation of 20 crores in the next six months, with a long-term target of reaching 100 crores.
Emotional Reflections on Struggles
When discussing his struggles, Dilkhush became emotional. He recalled, "I drove a rickshaw in Delhi and sold vegetables on the streets of Patna. During an interview for a peon position, I was treated as a rural simpleton and was asked to identify the Apple logo, which I couldn't recognize as it was my first encounter with an iPhone. Despite these setbacks, I never gave up, especially after getting married and taking on responsibilities."
He further mentioned, "When I couldn't find a job, I learned driving from my father, who was a bus driver. Although he didn't want me to drive, I had no choice. I only completed my education up to the 12th grade because my father couldn't afford to support my studies further. However, he is proud of what I have achieved through driving."
