New Delhi, July 27: The government has introduced the ‘Corporate Mitras’ initiative aimed at delivering accessible, cost-effective, and high-quality compliance and business support services to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This program also seeks to develop a cadre of trained para-professionals by equipping young graduates with relevant industry knowledge and hands-on skills.
Webinar for Awareness and Engagement
To promote the Corporate Mitra Scheme, the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) in Shillong, under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, hosted a webinar aimed at raising awareness among youth, students, MSMEs, professionals, and businesses in Arunachal Pradesh.
Goals of the Scheme
The initiative is designed to empower MSMEs, particularly in tier 2 and 3 cities, contributing to the broader vision of a developed India by 2047.
This program is anticipated to bolster the MSME ecosystem and create job opportunities, especially in the North Eastern Region.
Role of Accredited Corporate Mitras
Accredited ‘Corporate Mitras’ will offer affordable and accessible professional support to local businesses, focusing on non-core operational aspects such as regulatory compliance, financial management, taxation, accounting, and governance. This will enable MSMEs to concentrate on innovation and growth while effortlessly adhering to regulatory standards.
Implementation and Target Participants
The scheme aims to enroll 2000 participants nationwide, with 200 slots reserved for candidates from the North East Region (NER), who will benefit from a 50% fee concession.
IICA Shillong has been appointed as the nodal agency to oversee the scheme's rollout and coordinate with state governments and other stakeholders in the Northeast region.
Vision for a Thriving MSME Sector
This initiative reflects the ambition of establishing a formal, financially viable, and flourishing MSME sector by creating a robust support system through access to qualified and trusted para-professionals known as “Corporate Mitras.”
