Delhi Court Grants CBI Transit Remand for Mahadev Betting App Kingpin Sourabh Chandrakar
Sourabh Chandrakar's Legal Troubles Intensify
New Delhi: A Delhi court has granted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) a two-day transit remand for Sourabh Chandrakar, who is implicated in the massive Rs 6,000-crore Mahadev online betting application scandal.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Nikhil Chopra approved the CBI's request to transport Chandrakar to a special court located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Chandrakar's legal representative contested the CBI's motion, arguing that his client was extradited from Oman under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and not specifically for the CBI's case.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also issued a non-bailable warrant against Chandrakar in connection with the money laundering allegations, indicating their intention to apprehend him as well.
Chandrakar was extradited from Oman on Sunday and is currently wanted in two cases filed by the CBI and one by the ED, with charges already laid out in these cases.
