New Delhi, June 30: The deadline for submitting appeals to the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) has been pushed to July 31. This decision follows feedback from stakeholders regarding technical challenges faced due to a significant increase in filings on the GSTAT platform, as announced by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday.
This extension pertains to appeals submitted under Section 112(1) in conjunction with Section 112(3) of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act.
The Finance Ministry noted that the extension was prompted by numerous stakeholders who reported technical difficulties on the GSTAT portal, which experienced a surge in appeal submissions recently.
Previously, a notification issued on September 17, 2025, had set June 30 as the final date for filing appeals with the GST Appellate Tribunal.
In the last two weeks alone, approximately 30,000 appeals were lodged, with daily submissions reaching around 5,500.
Taxpayers are encouraged to file their appeals well ahead of the deadline to avoid congestion on the portal as the deadline approaches.
This extension comes at a time when the government is witnessing strong growth in tax revenues for the current financial year.
