Baripada Set to Welcome State-of-the-Art Bus Terminal with Airport-Like Amenities
New Bus Terminal Announcement in Baripada
Baripada: A new bus terminal is set to be constructed in Baripada, located in the Mayurbhanj district, featuring facilities akin to those found in airports, as announced by Odisha's Urban Development Minister, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, on Tuesday.
During a meeting focused on the project, Mahapatra emphasized that this terminal will serve as a significant public infrastructure development in northern Odisha.
The bus terminal will be named in honor of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Mahapatra stated, "Baripada is poised to become a key transport hub. We will ensure that funding is not an issue for this initiative. All relevant departments must collaborate effectively to guarantee timely completion while maintaining the highest quality standards."
The 'Atal Bus Stand' will occupy 5 acres and will prioritize passenger comfort, safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency in its design.
Amenities will include waiting areas, restrooms, food courts, retail outlets, and facilities for persons with disabilities (PwDs).
Additionally, the minister mentioned that the local civic body plans to plant over 6,000 saplings in the vicinity of the project.
This new bus terminal is anticipated to alleviate congestion in the city and improve connectivity to key locations such as Bhubaneswar, Balasore, and Kolkata.
