Bank customers should be aware of potential disruptions this week due to multiple branch closures across various states, coinciding with Eid-related holidays. On March 21, numerous banks will be closed in several regions for Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr), Khutub-E-Ramzan, and Sarhul. This closure follows other state-specific holidays on March 19 and March 20, which may lead to an extended period without branch services for many customers, depending on their location.
Bank Holidays This WeekMarch 19, 2026: Celebrations for Gudi Padwa, Ugadi Festival, Telugu New Year, Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba), and the first day of Navratra will result in bank closures in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Srinagar.
March 20, 2026: Eid-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan) and Jumat-ul-Vida will see banks in Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Srinagar, and Andhra Pradesh closed.
March 21, 2026: Banks will be closed for Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr), Khutub-E-Ramzan, and Sarhul in Assam, Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Nagaland, West Bengal, Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, and Srinagar.
March 22, 2026: As it is Sunday, banks will be closed nationwide.
Customers requiring services that depend on physical branches, such as cheque clearances, large cash deposits, or demand drafts, should complete these tasks ahead of time. However, digital banking services will remain operational, including ATMs, UPI, mobile banking applications, and internet banking.
Additional Bank Holidays Later This Month:March 26, 2026: Shree Ram Navami will lead to bank closures in Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, Nagpur, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh.
March 27, 2026: Shree Ram Navami (Chaite Dasain) will see banks in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Telangana, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh closed.
March 31, 2026: Mahavir Janmakalyanak / Mahavir Jayanti will result in bank closures in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand.
