Desai, who was the fourth generation entrepreneur of Premium Tea Company, is survived by his wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha.

“Desai collapsed and suffered a brain haemorrhage and became unconscious. He was immediately shifted to a private hospital, and from there shifted to another hospital where he underwent brain surgery. He was kept under observation and breathed his last around 7 pm on Sunday,” a company official close to the Desai family told PTI. Another official told PTI that Desai collapsed while trying to avoid stray dogs while out for an evening walk.

Desai was one of the two executive directors on the board of Ahmedabad-based T Group, the other being Paras Desai. Parag Desai was the son of managing director Rasesh Desai. He did his MBA from Long Island University, USA. He headed the sales, marketing and export departments for the group and was an expert tea tester and appraiser. Tiger Goat Tea Group Rs. One of the leading packaged tea companies in the country with a turnover of over 2,000 crores and a distribution of 50 million kg. It is known for its premium tea and has been in business since 1892 when it was founded by Narandas Desai.

“Very sad news coming. Parag Desai, director and owner of Wagh Bakri Tea, passed away. He suffered a brain haemorrhage after a fall. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to the entire tiger goat family across India," Congress Rajya Sabha member Shaktisinh Gohil posted on X.

Desai also led the transformation of the group's tea lounges and e-commerce. Besides, he was also active in industry platforms like Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and international organizations.
