New Launches on the Horizon

Maruti Suzuki India is gearing up for an exciting lineup of new vehicle launches, focusing on electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrids. Although specific details remain under wraps, the company has hinted at introducing a variety of new models in the near future.

Compact MPV and Micro SUV

There are indications that Suzuki may introduce a compact MPV or a micro SUV aimed at the lower market segment, potentially competing with models like the Tata Punch. This new vehicle could feature a hybrid option, aligning with Suzuki's strategy to expand its hybrid offerings. Historically, the brand has attempted to penetrate this segment with models such as the Ignis and Ritz, but the Wagon R has consistently dominated sales. An update to the Wagon R could be on the cards to refresh its aging design.

Maruti Suzuki EWX

The EWX, a small hatchback concept previously showcased at an auto exhibition in Japan, features a tall, SUV-like design. Although there has been no recent communication regarding its launch, it remains a potential candidate for Suzuki's lineup if they decide to pursue a small EV with an SUV profile.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid

An updated version of the Fronx is reportedly in the works, featuring a hybrid powertrain. The vehicle has been seen undergoing tests, suggesting a launch is imminent. Suzuki has two engine options available for adaptation into hybrid models: a 1-liter turbocharged engine and a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine.

Suzuki has announced plans for a new 5-seater SUV that is expected to compete with the KIA Sonet in the Indian market. With existing models like the Vitara Brezza and Grand Vitara already in its portfolio, this new compact SUV will likely feature hybrid powertrains as part of Suzuki's commitment to expanding its hybrid vehicle range. While details about upcoming launches are scarce, the Fronx Hybrid is anticipated to be among the next models to hit the market.
