Introduction to the Mahindra Thar Facelift

Mahindra is currently developing a refreshed version of the Thar three-door model, which has been a popular choice among off-road enthusiasts for the past five years. Despite its strong off-roading capabilities, the vehicle's design has begun to feel outdated, especially with the recent introduction of the Thar Roxx. To keep both models appealing, Mahindra has been spotted testing a new prototype featuring an updated front design.

New Features and Launch Timeline

Some features from the Thar Roxx are expected to be incorporated into the three-door Thar variant. With Mahindra planning multiple new releases, including a revamped Bolero that has also been seen in testing, the Thar facelift could be unveiled around the festive season.

Interior Updates

The steering wheel remains unchanged, while the instrument panel may feature a 10.2-inch TFT screen similar to that of the Thar Roxx. The prototype observed did not include a sunroof, and its interior appeared quite basic. However, once the final design is approved for production, it is likely to include modern amenities such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and ventilated seats.

Exterior Modifications

The facelift will introduce subtle changes to the exterior, including a new front fascia, updated grille, headlights, tail lamps, and modified fenders to align its appearance more closely with the Thar Roxx.

Engine Options and Performance

The Thar Roxx will be available with a range of petrol and diesel engines, including a 2.0-liter turbo petrol, a 1.5-liter diesel, and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. Transmission choices will feature both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic option.
