Exciting Developments from Mahindra

Mahindra is gearing up to introduce a brand-new SUV platform, which is scheduled for unveiling on August 15. This announcement was made during the company's Q4 earnings call, where they described the platform as a flexible architecture that will support a wide range of models. This innovative platform is designed to accommodate multiple energy sources, including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains.

The launch of this new platform is anticipated to align with the debut of the updated Bolero, suggesting that the new Bolero may utilize this same architecture. Mahindra has plans to introduce a completely new model while also refreshing two existing vehicles that require mid-cycle updates. Speculation is rife about the potential for a Bolero EV as part of this rollout, with more details expected soon.

Production Capacity Expansion

In addition to the new platform, Mahindra is planning to boost its production capacity to approximately 120,000 NFA models annually at its Chakan Plant. The company also intends to increase the production of the Mahindra Thar Roxx and XUV 3XO by over 3,000 units by the fiscal year 2026.

Future Model Launches

Mahindra has ambitious plans for the future, aiming to launch nine new internal combustion engine (ICE) models and several electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030. Recently, they introduced the XUV3X0 and Thar Roxx, along with the BE 6 and XEV 9e last year. By the end of the decade, the company expects to unveil around 12 new passenger vehicles, which will include seven new ICE models and five EVs.
