Significant Book Launch in New Delhi
New Delhi, June 9, 2025: The grand unveiling of the historically and culturally significant book "Tansen Ka Tana-Bana," authored by senior journalist Rakesh Shukla, took place today at the Vichar Vinimay Nyas auditorium in Keshav Kunj, New Delhi. The event commenced with the lighting of a lamp.
Chief guest, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, emphasized, "For India to become a global leader, we must remember and enrich our history, literature, and culture. Our heritage is crucial for shaping the future. We should continue documenting our past to educate the new generation about their roots. Such books should be gifted to the youth to help them connect with their heritage." He also expressed gratitude towards Suruchi Prakashan for their commendable work.
Sunil Ambecker, the spokesperson for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, highlighted Tansen's unparalleled contribution to music, stating that despite the lack of support for music during his time, he fought hard to preserve and promote musical traditions. He described Tansen's dedication as a symbol of India's spiritual heritage and stressed the need to keep such traditions alive and thriving.
Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat remarked, "The ongoing writings about Tansen, even after five centuries, prove that his contributions remain relevant today. History shows us many individuals who, despite facing numerous challenges, achieved greatness. We must revive the legacies of those personalities who have been intentionally forgotten. Unlike Western civilization, which lacks pride in its past, India learns from its history and embraces the values of the Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, and Dvapara Yuga. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India is committed to becoming a developed nation by 2047, and this journey cannot be complete without acknowledging our rich heritage. There was a time when India was disconnected from its roots, but now we are witnessing a cultural renaissance in the country."
Madhya Pradesh Minister Prahlad Singh Patel praised the book, stating, "This book serves as a historical document that aids in understanding Tansen's life and will be a reference for future research. It is crucial, especially as many aspects have been obscured over time."
The author, Rakesh Shukla, shared insights, saying, "Tansen's journey was not limited to Akbar's court; it began in the small village of Bandha in Satna, revealing much that has remained hidden in history."
During the event, Rajiv Tuli from Suruchi Prakashan noted, "Our culture holds immense reverence for literature. The power of scriptures dispels many doubts. We have made strides in making quality books available at reasonable prices. Over the past 50 years, we have published works that were previously overlooked. Currently, more than 250 books are available for free on Google, downloaded by millions monthly. In the future, we aim to reach even more people through e-books." He added that for nearly fifty years, Suruchi Prakashan has collaborated with the RSS to disseminate ideologies and plans to expand its reach further.
