Earlier on Thursday morning, he was admitted to the hospital after suffering from shortness of breath. It is known that Keshubhai Patel was also infected with Corona earlier. However, this legendary leader defeated Corona. His son Bharat Patel said that he was not well after recovering from Corona. On Thursday morning, he spoke of having trouble breathing. He was immediately rushed to the hospital.

“We took him from the hospital this morning when his health worsened,” he told reporters. The doctors tried hard but could not survive. “In February 2014, Keshubhai Patel indicated his retirement from active politics. He tendered his resignation as an MLA.

Patel was 92 years old. He was the chief minister of the state between 1995 and then from 1998 to 2001. After him, Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister of the state. However, in 2001 he had to resign from the post. The special thing is that Patel could not complete his fixed tenure both times. Keshubhai Patel was also the Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Patel was a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly six times. After leaving the BJP in

2012, he formed the ‘Gujarat Parivartan Party’, which performed extremely poorly in the state assembly elections in 2012. He then merged his party with the BJP in 2014.

President and PM paid tribute: President Ramnath Kovind also expressed grief by tweeting. He said, “With the death of Keshubhai Patel, the nation lost a great leader. His long public life was devoted to improving the lives of millions, especially in rural areas. Protected the interests of farmers, he had a wonderful relationship with the people. ”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “I am deeply saddened by the death of our beloved and honorable Keshubhai. He was an excellent leader who was concerned about every section of the society. His life was devoted towards the development of Gujarat and empowering Gujaratis.
