Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi have made a significant drug seizure in their ongoing efforts against narcotics trafficking. Reports indicate that over 30 kilograms of suspected hydroponic cannabis were confiscated during various operations, leading to the arrest of multiple travelers.

Details of the Operations

According to customs authorities, suspicious activities were detected on September 9 when passengers arriving from Bangkok were being monitored. Some travelers were stopped near the green channel while collecting their luggage. During the inspection, a green suspicious substance weighing approximately 27.45 kilograms was discovered in their bags.

Additionally, on September 7, customs officials seized around 2.86 kilograms of suspected cannabis from another passenger's bag at IGI Airport. Legal action was initiated under the NDPS Act in this case as well.

Ongoing Investigations

Customs officials have commenced interrogations of the arrested individuals. They stated that investigations are underway to understand the nature of the seized substances and the alleged smuggling network involved. Further actions are being taken in accordance with the NDPS law.
