India's Operation Sindoor: A Strategic Response to Terrorism
Operation Sindoor: Precision Strikes on Terrorist Bases
On Friday, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval announced that India executed precise strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan as part of 'Operation Sindoor', successfully hitting every target. He emphasized that this operation showcased India's indigenous technology, a source of national pride, and highlighted the Indian Army's effectiveness in neutralizing threats from across the border.
Doval explained that this military action was a direct response to the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians by Pakistan-trained terrorists. He noted that India had accurate intelligence regarding the terrorists' locations in Pakistan, allowing for a swift operation that commenced shortly after 1 am on May 7 and concluded in just 23 minutes.
During his address at the 62nd convocation of IIT Madras, Doval dismissed Pakistan's claims of damage, questioning, 'Can you show even one picture in which India has suffered any damage? Not even a broken glass?' He asserted that the operation was executed with such precision that all designated targets were struck effectively.
He also criticized foreign media for their biased reporting favoring Pakistan, stating, 'The foreign press kept saying that Pakistan did this, did that… but is there even one picture that confirms the damage done to India?' According to reports, Doval referenced satellite images released by foreign outlets that depicted the conditions of 13 Pakistani airbases, including Sargodha and Rahim Yar Khan, before and after May 10, suggesting India's capability to inflict damage on Pakistan.
During Operation Sindoor, India successfully dismantled nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on May 7, resulting in the deaths of over 100 terrorists.
In retaliation, Pakistan launched drone and rocket attacks, which India effectively countered. This led to a series of exchanges between the two nations over four days, involving missiles and long-range weaponry. Ultimately, a ceasefire agreement was reached on May 10, halting military actions.
