Police Uncover Trafficking Ring in Nawada

The police were taken aback when they uncovered a sex trafficking ring in Nawada, Bihar. Neelam was apprehended, revealing a network that lured young girls into the trade. Reports indicate that she operated this racket alongside her husband, Sanjeev. During initial interrogations, Neelam confessed to coercing underage girls into the sex trade.

Rescue of 16 Girls

According to police reports, the trafficking activities were taking place in the Navin Nagar area of Nawada. Complaints about the operation surfaced approximately two and a half months ago, prompting ongoing surveillance by law enforcement. On January 30 of this year, a significant bust occurred in the same locality, leading to the arrest of six individuals and the rescue of 16 underage girls. This illicit trade was being conducted in a densely populated area.

Neelam's Role in the Racket

Investigations revealed that Neelam was the mastermind behind the trafficking operation. After rescuing the girls, police filed a case at the Nawada police station. Neelam was later arrested in Bihar Sharif, where her address was listed as Mirzapur. Surprisingly, she was running the racket with her husband Sanjeev from Bihar Sharif.

Modus Operandi of the Trafficking Ring

Neelam, originally from Hisua, was married to a man named Vicky in her village. After some time, she left him and married Sanjeev. Both husbands were involved in the trafficking scheme. Reports suggest that Sanjeev and his brother Roshan would target underage girls, luring them in at bus stations, railway stations, and nearby dhabas and hotels. They specifically sought out girls who had run away from home or had been rejected by their boyfriends. These girls were then brought to Neelam, who would manipulate them into the sex trade.
