Zelina Vega Triumphs: From Manager to WWE Champion
Zelina Vega's Journey to Championship Glory
In a remarkable turn of events, WWE SmackDown Superstar Zelina Vega has proven her mettle by transitioning from a managerial role to a celebrated wrestler, clinching her first singles title in the WWE during the post-Wrestlemania season. This achievement, once thought unattainable by fans, marks a significant milestone in her career.
Vega's victory was fueled by overwhelming fan support, as she has become a prominent figure in the Women's division of WWE SmackDown. Initially, she started her journey as a manager for Andrade, a former NXT World Champion, but has since showcased her wrestling skills in the ring. Recently, she expressed her doubts about ever becoming a top star in the company.

Zelina Vega's Determination to Succeed
During a recent appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight Podcast, Vega candidly shared her uncertainty about becoming a legitimate wrestler in WWE. Despite her doubts, she remained resolute in her pursuit, continuing to evolve her role across WWE Raw and SmackDown after winning the tag team title in 2021.
“I wasn’t sure if it was gonna happen, but I knew I wasn’t willing to completely give up, even though I know I said it. It’s one of those things that you say deep down in your heart, there’s just something that no matter how much you hate it, you’re always gonna go back to it,” Vega reflected.
“I just remember when it came to there was an audition that I did and everything was going great with it, I got accepted for it. It was like we were doing the fittings, everything’s going great.”

Historic Championship Win
On April 25, during the post-Wrestlemania 41 edition of WWE Smackdown, Zelina Vega achieved a career-defining moment by defeating Chelsea Green (c) to claim the Women’s United States Championship. This title match followed a week after she had pinned the champion, significantly elevating her status within the WWE roster.
This victory came shortly after Vega's transfer back to WWE Smackdown from Raw, just before the 2025 Royal Rumble. However, her second reign as the women’s US champion was cut short by Giulia on June 27 during a historic episode in Saudi Arabia.
