Abhishek's innings concluded at 113 runs off 38 balls, showcasing a remarkable display of power-hitting that left the New Zealand bowlers struggling. This performance marked his 11th T20 century, making him the Indian player with the most hundreds in T20 cricket, surpassing Virat Kohli's previous record of 10.

Currently, Abhishek ranks third among players with the most T20 centuries, trailing only West Indies legend Chris Gayle, who has 22, and Pakistan's Babar Azam, with 13. His explosive innings was supported by the young talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who contributed 45 runs off just 19 balls, as they dismantled the New Zealand bowling attack during a record-setting powerplay.

India achieved a staggering 118 runs without losing a wicket in the first six overs, setting a new record for the highest powerplay total in men's T20 Internationals. The previous record was held by Romania, who scored 116/0 against Serbia in 2021.

The visitors also reached their team hundred in just five overs, marking the second-fastest in men's T20 cricket, following Eswatini's 4.5 overs against Mozambique earlier this year. Their fifty came in a mere 2.2 overs, equaling the joint-fastest team fifty in the format, a record previously set by Papua New Guinea against Vanuatu and Romania against Serbia.
