In light of rising tensions and significant student demonstrations regarding alleged discrepancies in the NEET-UG examination, legendary Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has urged for calm, open dialogue, and the safety of students. The 2011 World Cup champion took to social media to convey a heartfelt message highlighting the necessity of a secure environment for young individuals to pursue their educational goals and aspirations. Yuvraj's Instagram story stated, "To every child, student, woman, and man: you deserve the opportunity to learn in peace, grow with safety, and chase your dreams." He further emphasized, "Your well-being is the foundation of a brighter India. Let’s unite to create communities filled with care, opportunity, and hope. What Is Happening At Jantar Mantar?

The protests currently taking place at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi are a response to alleged leaks and irregularities associated with the 2026 NEET-UG medical entrance exams. Spearheaded by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and its founder Abhijeet Dipke, thousands of students have gathered to demand the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protesters are also calling for a comprehensive investigation into the exam-related scandals and advocating for significant reforms in the administration of public examinations in India.

The situation intensified on July 20, 2026, when the CJP organized a large-scale "Sansad Chalo" (March to Parliament) rally. More than 100,000 demonstrators attempted to march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament House to amplify their demands during the ongoing monsoon session. However, Delhi Police intervened, employing heavy barricades, tear gas, and baton charges to prevent access to the high-security area. The clashes resulted in injuries to numerous students and police personnel, leading to the temporary dismantling of the protesters' stage.

Adding significant support to the movement, renowned climate activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk joined the students and initiated an indefinite hunger strike on June 28. Following a decline in his health, police forcibly removed Wangchuk from the protest site and admitted him to a hospital. From his hospital bed, he has stated that he will only conclude his fast if the central government guarantees that the young participants of the "Sansad Chalo" march will not face any retaliatory legal actions or police harassment.
