Yuvraj Sandhu Clinches Record Seventh Title at Tata Open 2025
Yuvraj Sandhu's Remarkable Victory
Yuvraj Sandhu, who had already claimed the 2025 PGTI Order of Merit title after his sixth win two weeks ago, added another achievement to his list by securing a one-stroke victory at the Tata Open 2025. This win marks a record-setting seventh title for him this season.
The 28-year-old golfer from Chandigarh, who was tied for the lead overnight, finished the final round with an impressive six-under 65. His performance included a crucial birdie on the last hole, bringing his total score to 20-under 264 for the tournament, which featured a prize pool of Rs 2 crore and was held at the Beldih and Golmuri Golf Courses in Jamshedpur.
Record-Breaking Season
With this victory, Sandhu not only secured his spot on the DP World Tour for 2026 but also set a new record for the most wins in a single PGTI season. Just two weeks prior, he had equaled the previous record of six wins held by Manu Gandas since 2022.
Shubham Jaglan, a 21-year-old player who was also tied for the lead, finished the tournament with a bogey-free five-under 66, totaling 19-under 265, marking his second runner-up finish in just three PGTI appearances.
Earnings and Achievements
Yuvraj Sandhu received a winning cheque of Rs 30 lakh, bringing his total earnings for the season to an impressive Rs 1,91,67,100. This amount surpasses the previous record of Rs 1,56,35,724 set by Veer Ahlawat in 2024.
Throughout the season, Sandhu achieved seven titles and secured seven additional top-10 finishes, including three runner-up spots. Sri Lankan golfer N Thangaraja, who won three times on the PGTI this year, finished second in the rankings with earnings of Rs 1,18,21,821.
Tournament Format and Sponsorship
During the first two rounds, half of the participants played at Beldih Golf Club while the other half competed at Golmuri Golf Club. In the final rounds, the leading groups played their front-nine at Golmuri before switching to Beldih for the back-nine. The combined par for both courses was 71.
The Tata Open is sponsored by Tata Steel, a leading global steel manufacturer with an annual crude steel capacity of 35 million tonnes. Established in 1907 in Jamshedpur, Tata Steel has grown to become one of the most geographically diversified steel producers worldwide.
Final Round Highlights
Sandhu started strong with birdies on the first two holes and continued to perform well, converting putts from seven to eight feet with ease. Despite two bogeys on the back-nine, he maintained his momentum with three additional birdies, culminating in a decisive 15-foot birdie on the 18th hole.
Shubham Jaglan, who turned professional earlier this year, closely followed Sandhu throughout the day, making three birdies on the front-nine and two on the back-nine. However, he fell short of the title due to Sandhu's final birdie.
Reflections on a Successful Season
Reflecting on his victory, Yuvraj stated, "I was determined to finish the season strong, and I’m thrilled with today’s performance. Shubham played exceptionally well and is destined for great things. My last putt was all about getting the pace right, and thankfully, it worked out perfectly."
He added, "This has been my best season ever, winning a record seven titles is truly special. It’s still sinking in. Winning at prestigious venues like the Delhi Golf Club and the Tata Open has been a dream come true. I’m excited to compete on the DP World Tour next year, and this success is a testament to the hard work of my entire team."

Seventeen-year-old Manoj S from Bengaluru was honored as the PGTI Emerging Player of the Year, earning Rs 37,21,945, the highest among rookies. He finished tied for 12th at six-under 278 in the season finale and secured a commendable 21st position on the PGTI Order of Merit, thanks to seven top-10 finishes throughout the season.
