Yash Dayal's Absence from IPL 2026

Yash Dayal, a bowler for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, has opened up about his absence from the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2026), clarifying that it was not a personal choice. He is currently facing serious allegations of sexual exploitation under the pretense of marriage, as detailed in a complaint lodged in Ghaziabad. The Allahabad High Court has provided him with protection from arrest, while the Rajasthan High Court denied him relief in a separate case in Jaipur, emphasizing the serious nature of the accusations under the POCSO Act.

During an appearance on the Talk with Manvendra YouTube show, Dayal expressed his disappointment about missing the season, stating that he did not opt out voluntarily. He played a pivotal role in RCB's first IPL title victory last season. RCB's director of cricket, Mo Bobat, mentioned that Dayal's absence is due to 'a personal situation' and emphasized that the decision was made in the best interest of both Dayal and the team.

Dayal shared his feelings about watching the matches from home, saying, 'When I watch them on television, sometimes I just get up. But then it is my team, and they haven't removed me. They kept me on the retain list and didn't get me a replacement. They probably think that I am an important part.' He further clarified that his absence was not a personal decision, hinting at the complexities behind the scenes.

Maintaining Communication with RCB Management

Despite his absence, Dayal confirmed that he remains in touch with the team's management, including Dinesh Karthik. 'I have been in conversations with the management. I have spoken to the director, the coach, and Dinesh Karthik. We communicate regularly, and there is no communication gap,' he stated.

The allegations against Dayal involve a minor who claims to have been sexually abused over two years after meeting him at an IPL match in Jaipur. The minor also accused him of making false promises regarding a cricket career and manipulating her emotions. These serious allegations are currently under investigation by the legal authorities.

Previously, Dayal was signed by the Gorakhpur Lions for INR 7 lakh but was barred from participating in the UP T20 League last year due to the ongoing legal issues.
