The World Padel League (WPL) Season 4 commenced with an intense match where Vedanta Leopards triumphed over Aussie Mavericks Jaguars with a score of 18-16. Meanwhile, Hubtown Panorama Panthers showcased their strength by defeating VB Realty Cheetahs 16-9 on the inaugural day.

This season of the WPL adopts a round-robin format, promising a series of competitive matches as teams vie for supremacy.

Leopards Claim a Narrow Win

Despite a valiant effort from the Jaguars, the Leopards managed to clinch the first victory of the season. The opening match featured a women's doubles showdown between Alejandra Alonso and Claudia Jensen from the Jaguars against Marta Ortega and Veronica Virseda of the Leopards. The Jaguars narrowly won the first set 7-5 after a series of intense rallies.

The second set introduced the season's first tiebreak, where Ignacio Piotto and Enzo Jensen faced off against the Deus brothers, Miguel and Nuno. The Leopards emerged victorious in this set, winning 7-6.

In the final men's doubles match, Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado from the Jaguars competed against Fran Guerrero and Javi Ruiz of the Leopards. The Leopards sealed their comeback by winning the deciding set 6-3, resulting in an 18-16 overall victory.

Panthers Overpower Cheetahs

In the second match of the day, Hubtown Panorama Panthers delivered a commanding performance against VB Realty Cheetahs, winning 16-9.

After dropping the first set 4-6, the Panthers rebounded strongly, winning the next two sets decisively with scores of 6-1 and 6-2.

The opening set featured Juan Tello and Eduardo Alonso from the Panthers facing Lucho Capra and Jesus Moya of the Cheetahs, with the latter taking the set 6-4 after a series of intense exchanges.

The Panthers responded in the women's doubles, where Marta Caparros and Marta Barrera dominated their opponents, Aranzazu Osoro and Julieta Bidahorria, winning 6-1. With the match on the line, Enriquei Goenaga and Rama Valenzuela secured the final set 6-2 against Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz, concluding the match at 16-9.
