Why Smriti Mandhana's Wedding with Palash Munchhal is on Hold: A Family Health Crisis
Wedding Plans Delayed Due to Health Concerns
In Sangli, the highly anticipated wedding of renowned Indian women's cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Munchhal has been postponed indefinitely. This decision comes after her father, Shrinivas Mandhana, fell ill just before the ceremony, which was set for Sunday.
Smriti shares a deep emotional bond with her father, who has been a steadfast supporter throughout her cricketing career.
Tuhin Mishra, Mandhana's manager, reported that her father experienced a health issue early on Sunday morning.
According to Mishra, "Mr. Shrinivas Mandhana was having breakfast when his condition began to worsen. We initially hoped for a quick recovery, but his health did not improve."
"We decided it was best not to take any chances and called for an ambulance. He has since been taken to the hospital and is currently under observation," Mishra added.
Given her father's health situation, Mandhana has chosen to delay her wedding until he is well again.
"Smriti is very close to her father, and she has made it clear that the wedding will be postponed until he recovers," Mishra stated.
"The doctor has advised that he will need to stay in the hospital for the time being. We are all in shock and hope for a swift recovery, as this is a significant occasion for everyone involved," he continued.
"Smriti is adamant that her father's health comes first, and she will marry once he is better. We kindly ask for privacy for the family during this challenging time," Mishra concluded.
