Exciting Final of the Women's Premier League Set for Wednesday

The much-anticipated final of the fourth season of the Women’s Premier League is set for Wednesday, featuring a clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals.

Under the leadership of Smriti Mandhana, RCB, who were champions in the second season, dominated the points table this year. In contrast, Delhi Capitals have consistently reached the finals since the league's inception but are still in pursuit of their first title.

RCB secured six victories out of eight matches during the league phase, finishing with a total of 12 points, the highest in the tournament. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, led by Jemimah Rodriguez, ended up third with four wins and four losses. They advanced to the final after defeating Gujarat Giants by seven wickets in the Eliminator, hoping to break their streak of final losses.

The Women’s Premier League was established in 2023, with Mumbai Indians claiming the first title. The champions have been awarded Rs 6 crore in prize money since the inaugural season, and there has been no announcement regarding an increase for this year. Therefore, the winner of the final will again receive Rs 6 crore, while the runner-up will take home Rs 3 crore.

The Player of the Tournament will earn Rs 5 lakh, and additional awards of Rs 5 lakh each will be given to the Orange Cap and Purple Cap winners, as well as players with the most sixes and the best strike rate. The Player of the Match in the final will receive Rs 2.5 lakh.

The RCB vs. Delhi Capitals final will take place at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara, starting at 7:30 p.m. IST, with the toss scheduled for 7 p.m.
