Guwahati: The West Indies achieved a remarkable feat by scoring 405 runs for seven wickets against India in the second ODI, marking their first-ever 400-plus total in One Day Internationals.

After being invited to bat first, John Campbell set the stage with a blistering century off just 65 balls, showcasing the vulnerabilities of India's young pace attack.

Inspired by Chris Gayle, Campbell unleashed his power hitting, scoring 101 runs from 68 deliveries, including nine fours and five sixes.

Shai Hope and Amir Jangoo maintained the momentum, ensuring a steady scoring rate of around eight runs per over during the middle and late stages of the innings.

Hope played a dual role as both the anchor and aggressor, reaching 104 runs off 94 balls, capitalizing on a dropped catch by Virat Kohli when he was on 27.

Jangoo complemented Hope's innings perfectly, achieving his second ODI century in just 69 balls, finishing with 114 runs, which included 13 fours and three sixes. This match marked the first time three players from the West Indies scored centuries in a single ODI.

The total surpassed their previous record of 389 runs against England in 2019.
