Former captain of Team India, Virat Kohli, thrilled fans by scoring two consecutive centuries upon his return to the national squad during the ODI series against South Africa. After a brief hiatus following the ODI series against Australia, Kohli made a strong comeback in the ongoing home series against South Africa.
In the first ODI held at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi, Kohli showcased his skills with a remarkable 135 runs, helping India set a formidable total of 349/8. The bowlers then successfully defended this score, dismissing South Africa for 332, resulting in a 17-run victory for India.

Continuing his impressive form, Kohli scored 102 runs off 93 balls in the second ODI at the Shaheed Veer Narayanan Singh International in Raipur, marking his 53rd ODI century and 83rd overall in international cricket. His partnership of 195 runs with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 105 off 83 balls, propelled India to a total of 358/5. However, despite their efforts, India lost the match by four wickets as South Africa successfully chased down the target of 359 runs.

As Kohli approached his milestone in the second ODI, she was seen praying in front of her television. In the current ODI series against South Africa, Kohli has accumulated 237 runs, averaging 118.50 with a strike rate of 111.70 across two matches. His historical performance against South Africa is noteworthy, with 1741 runs, including six centuries and eight fifties, at an impressive average of 69.64 in 33 ODIs.
