Kohli's Remarkable Performance in Ranchi

Former captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, once again showcased his exceptional skills under pressure by scoring his 52nd One Day International century against South Africa on Sunday in Ranchi. This milestone marks the 7000th international century in men's cricket history.

India faced an early setback when opener Rohit Sharma was dismissed after a brilliant half-century, scoring 57 runs off 51 balls. The partnership between Rohit and Kohli was crucial, accumulating 136 runs off 109 balls, which laid a solid foundation for the team. Rohit also hit three sixes during his innings.

After Rohit's departure, India's innings stumbled slightly as Ruturaj Gaikwad and Washington Sundar fell cheaply. The run rate slowed down, allowing South Africa to make a comeback attempt.

Nevertheless, Kohli remained steadfast. He started cautiously but shifted gears when necessary, building his innings brick by brick. His century arrived in the 38th over when he skillfully guided a delivery from all-rounder Marco Jansen over the third man for a boundary.

The ball sailed over the boundary, prompting Kohli to celebrate with a triumphant fist pump. Meanwhile, KL Rahul maintained his composure at the other end, rotating the strike and allowing Kohli to take charge. With overs remaining and depth in the batting lineup, India appeared well-positioned to surpass the 300-run mark.
