In a thrilling final league match for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium on May 27, Virat Kohli showcased his exceptional form. Opening the innings alongside Phil Salt, Kohli faced the daunting challenge of chasing a massive target of 228 runs, a crucial win needed for RCB to secure a top-two finish and enhance their chances of reaching the finals set for June 3 at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.

Kohli and Salt quickly built a solid partnership, scoring 61 runs in just 34 balls before Salt was dismissed for 30 runs off 19 balls. Kohli's impressive innings of 54 runs from 30 balls marked his eighth fifty-plus score of the season, significantly contributing to RCB's efforts and nearly breaking several records.
