Kohli's Emotional Farewell to Test Cricket

These cheerful moments come shortly after Kohli's heartfelt retirement from Test cricket, marking the end of a remarkable 14-year career in the format. Kohli, who debuted in Test cricket in 2011 against the West Indies, emerged as India's top batsman following Sachin Tendulkar's retirement.

Reflecting on his journey, Kohli expressed on Instagram, 'As I step away from this format, it’s not easy — but it feels right. It’s been 14 years since I donned the baggy blue for Test cricket. Honestly, I never anticipated the journey this format would take me on. It has challenged me, shaped me, and imparted lessons I will carry with me forever.'

Throughout his 123 Test matches, Kohli amassed 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85, including 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries. He captained India in 68 Tests, becoming the nation's most successful Test captain with 40 wins.

Beyond his achievements on the field, Kohli is a prominent figure in international cricket, boasting over 271 million followers on Instagram and nearly 68 million on X (formerly Twitter).
