In a thrilling eliminator match of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2025, Raigad Royals faced Kolhapur Tuskers, chasing a target of 165 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Vicky Ostwal, a pivotal player for the Royals, experienced a fortunate moment during his innings. He executed a shot off Atman Pore towards the offside, which, although not powerful, found a gap due to a fielder's fumble, allowing them to attempt a second run.

As Ostwal and his partner turned for the second run, they accidentally collided, both falling to the ground. This mishap created a prime opportunity for Kolhapur Tuskers to achieve a run-out. The throw reached the wicketkeeper while Ostwal was significantly out of his crease.


Instead of dislodging the bails, the keeper opted to return the ball to the bowler. Pore struggled to gather the ball cleanly and, although he broke the stumps, Ostwal had already reached the non-striker's end safely. Meanwhile, another fielder rushed towards the striker's end to attempt a run-out.

Observing this, Ostwal abandoned his bat and dashed towards the striker's end. The fielder's throw missed the stumps, and with no backup in place, Ostwal made it to the crease without any trouble.



This poor fielding decision proved detrimental for Kolhapur Tuskers. Vicky Ostwal delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 74 runs off 54 balls, which included 11 fours and seven sixes. His remarkable innings guided Raigad Royals to victory in the MPL 2025 Eliminator. With this win, the Royals have advanced to Qualifier 2, where they will compete against Puneri Bappa on Saturday.
