The 2026 Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup kicked off with an exhilarating match between Ujjain Falcons and Gwalior Cheetahs, where the Falcons secured a decisive victory by 92 runs. Madhav Tiwari, fresh from his stellar IPL performances, shone brightly with an impressive unbeaten score of 62 runs off just 31 balls, hitting five sixes and four fours. He also contributed with the ball, taking two wickets, as reported in a press release.

Reflecting on his impactful performance and the team's success, Tiwari emphasized the importance of this initial win for the newcomers. "Starting the season with a victory feels fantastic. I'm pleased to have contributed both with bat and ball. My goal was to maintain the momentum and finish strong. Taking a wicket in my first over was a bonus that helped us gain an advantage. Overall, it was a solid team effort and a great way to kick off the tournament," he stated.
Falcons Set a High Target
After winning the toss, Gwalior Cheetahs opted to bowl first. Ujjain Falcons began strongly, with captain Chanchal Rathore and Yash Dubey forming a partnership of 53 runs for the opening wicket within five overs. Rathore played aggressively, scoring 33 runs off 17 balls before being dismissed LBW by Saumy Pandey.
Dubey then teamed up with Ojaswa Yadav, adding another 51 runs for the second wicket. However, Gwalior managed to dismiss both players quickly, with Dubey scoring 37 off 26 balls and Yadav contributing 31 runs from 23 balls.
Madhav Tiwari took charge in the final overs, leading Ujjain Falcons to a formidable total of 221/6 in 20 overs, supported by Aryan Pandey, who scored a rapid 19 runs off just seven balls.
Cheetahs Struggle in Their Chase
In their response, Gwalior Cheetahs faced a rocky start as Kuldeep Gehi was bowled by Tiwari for 9 runs off 6 balls. The Falcons struck again when Kartik Parihar was caught by Rishi Miglani off Gajendra Goswami after scoring 9 runs off just 4 deliveries.
Parth Chaudhary attempted to keep the Cheetahs in contention with a brisk 46 runs off 18 balls, hitting three fours and five sixes. However, his dismissal marked a turning point, as Aayush Mankar took him out and followed up by dismissing Arpit Patel and Vikas Sharma.
