Trump Affirms Stance Against Male Participation in Women's Sports for 2028 Olympics
Trump's Firm Position on Gender in Sports
In a recent statement, President Donald Trump declared that the United States will prohibit men from participating in women's events during the 2028 Summer Olympics. This announcement reinforces his administration's stance on gender issues in athletics.
During his remarks, Trump mentioned that he had enacted an executive order affirming the government's recognition of only two genders, emphasizing that this policy will extend to international competitions held in the U.S.
He stated, "I’m also keeping the men out of women’s sports. I signed an executive order declaring that there are only two genders, male and female. Complicated, isn’t it? We have put the world on notice that America will not allow men to compete against women in the 2028 Olympics."
The detailed schedule for the Los Angeles Olympics, which will take place from July 14 to July 30, 2028, was revealed in November 2025. The first medal event will be the Triathlon.
This edition of the Olympics is expected to be the largest yet, featuring 51 sports across 49 competitions in 18 locations, including Los Angeles and Oklahoma City.
Reynold Hoover, CEO of LA28, stated, "With Olympic ticket registration opening in January 2026, now is the time to start planning what events you want to attend, which sports are coming to your neighborhood, and the moments of history you don’t want to miss."
He added, "Athletes and fans from around the world now have what they need to plan an unforgettable Olympic experience."
The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for July 14, 2028, at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT, while the Closing Ceremony will occur on July 30, 2028, at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT.
