Tragic Gym Incident: 37-Year-Old Man Suffers Heart Attack While Exercising
Heart Attack Claims Life During Workout
A tragic event unfolded in Ballabgarh, Faridabad, where a 37-year-old man, weighing around 170 kg, passed away due to a heart attack while exercising at a gym. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning in Sector-9, where the individual collapsed mid-workout.
The deceased, identified as Pankaj Sharma, resided in Raja Nahar Singh Colony, Gali No. 6. He had arrived at the gym with his friend Rohit around 10 a.m. on the day of the incident.
Rohit shared that Pankaj had consumed a small cup of black coffee before beginning his workout and had started shoulder pull-ups. During his third pull-up, he unexpectedly fell.
Other gym-goers rushed to assist upon hearing the noise. They attempted to revive him and offered water, but he vomited and collapsed again. Friends performed CPR twice, but there was no response. Medical personnel from a nearby hospital were summoned, but upon arrival, they pronounced Pankaj dead.
Rohit mentioned that Pankaj had been consistently working out for the past four months to shed weight. He was involved in the family construction business alongside his father. Rajesh, Pankaj's father, noted that his son was health-conscious and avoided protein powders or steroids.
Gym trainer Vikram Das described the incident as completely unforeseen, confirming that CPR was administered promptly but was ineffective. The police have been informed and are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering information from the gym for their investigation. Pankaj was married for four years and had a 2.5-year-old daughter.
