Tottenham's Struggles Continue

London [UK], March 7: Tottenham Hotspur's woes deepened in the Premier League as they suffered a 3-1 defeat against Crystal Palace at home on Friday. This loss extended Spurs' winless streak in the league to 11 matches.

The first half saw a pivotal moment when Micky van de Ven received a red card, forcing Tottenham to play with ten men and allowing Palace to seize control of the match, according to reports from the Premier League.

Initially, Tottenham appeared promising when Archie Gray's skillful footwork set up Dominic Solanke, whose goal briefly energized the home fans. Earlier, Palace thought they had scored through Ismaila Sarr, but his deflected shot was disallowed after a lengthy offside review.

Midway through the first half, the game shifted dramatically. Sarr broke through Tottenham's defense and was fouled by Van de Ven as he approached the goal. The referee awarded a penalty and sent off the Dutch defender. Sarr calmly converted the penalty, leveling the score and igniting Palace's momentum.

Palace quickly took advantage of Tottenham's defensive chaos. Evann Guessand intercepted a loose pass, and the team swiftly transitioned through midfield. Adam Wharton delivered a precise pass to Jürgen Strand Larsen, who scored to put the visitors in the lead.

Before halftime, Palace struck again as Wharton orchestrated the play, setting up Sarr for his second goal of the night. This goal capped a dominant period for Palace and left the home supporters frustrated.

Tottenham's goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, had a challenging night, having previously let Strand Larsen's shot slip through his legs, allowing Sarr to score Palace's third goal.

After the break, Spurs showed more determination, but with only ten players and several injuries, they struggled to mount a significant comeback. This defeat puts increasing pressure on manager Igor Tudor, who is still early in his tenure.

This loss marks Tottenham's fifth consecutive defeat in the league and highlights a troubling trend, as the team has conceded two or more goals in nine straight matches, the worst such record in the club's history.

With tough fixtures ahead, including a challenging match against Liverpool FC, Tottenham is just one point above the relegation zone and faces a tense fight to stay in the Premier League.
