Overview of the Tokyo Open Seedings


The PPA Tour Asia has revealed the seedings for the upcoming Tokyo Open, set to take place from July 1 to 4 at Arena Tachikawa Tachihi in Tokyo. Zane Ford has been designated as the top seed in the men's singles category. Following a runner-up finish at the Beijing Open during his PPA Tour Asia debut, Ford aims to enhance his performance. He faced Wong Hong-kit in the final match, who is seeded third in this tournament and is eager to maintain his impressive form after a strong showing in Beijing.


Second seed Tama Shimabukuro, the champion of the Macao Open, is looking to bounce back after an early exit at the Kuala Lumpur Open. Grayson Goldin has been assigned the fourth seed.


In the women's singles, Kiora Kunimoto leads the field, while Sahra Dennehy, who recently clinched the Beijing Open women's singles title, is the second seed. China's Yufei Long and Lingwei Kong are seeded third and fourth, respectively, with Yufei having recently won the women's doubles title at the Beijing Open alongside Dennehy.


For men's doubles, Tama and Yuta Funemizu are the top seeds, followed by veteran Collin Jones and his partner Len Yang as the second seeds. Eunggwon Kim and Hong-kit are seeded third, with Brandon French and Wyatt Stone rounding out the fourth position.


In women's doubles, Dennehy teams up with Danni-Elle Townsend, entering as the top seeds. They are followed by Aiko Yoshitomi and Lingwei Kong. Yufei Long will partner with Andie Dikosavljevic, seeded third, while Albie Huang and Hannah Blatt are the fourth seeds.


In mixed doubles, the newly formed duo of Tama and Dennehy has been awarded the top seed, with Townsend and Joseph Wild as the second seeds. Yufei and Len Wang are third, and Albie Huang with Zane Navratil are the fourth seeds.
