Quinton de Kock Achieves Historic IPL Milestone with Century for Third Team
Quinton de Kock's Remarkable IPL Achievement
On April 16, South African wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock made a significant mark in the Indian Premier League by becoming the first overseas player and the third cricketer overall to score a century for three different franchises. This milestone was achieved during the IPL 2026 match against the Punjab Kings at Wankhede Stadium, where he reached the 100-run mark in just 53 balls while playing for the Mumbai Indians, having been acquired for Rs 1 crore in the IPL 2026 auction.
De Kock's journey in the IPL includes his first century for the Delhi Capitals in 2018 and an unbeaten 140 runs for the Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 season. Before him, only KL Rahul and Sanju Samson had accomplished the feat of scoring centuries for three different IPL teams. Rahul has achieved this with the Punjab Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, and Delhi Capitals, while Samson has done so with the Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Chennai Super Kings.

In the match, Arshdeep Singh made an early impact by reducing Mumbai to 12/2 within the first three overs, while also achieving his 100th wicket for the Punjab Kings. However, a strong partnership of 122 runs off 68 balls between Naman Dhir and Quinton de Kock turned the game around for the five-time champions. Dhir scored 50 runs off 31 balls, while De Kock remained not out at 112, leading Mumbai to a total of 195/6. Arshdeep Singh was the standout bowler for PBKS, finishing with impressive figures of 3/22 in his four overs. The Punjab Kings now need 196 runs to secure victory in this match.
