Alcaraz Faces Unexpected Defeat

Carlos Alcaraz has experienced a surprising exit from the Miami Open, falling to Sebastian Korda in the Round of 32. The young star expressed his devastation, stating, "I cannot take it anymore. I want to go home now." Despite his recent struggles on the court, Alcaraz's off-court life has been nothing short of extravagant.

The 22-year-old tennis sensation has made a significant investment in a luxury yacht, specifically a Sunreef Ultima 88 catamaran, which places him among a select group of elite athletes who enjoy high-end maritime lifestyles. This vessel is currently being constructed at a shipyard in Gdansk, Poland, and is part of a premium line typically favored by the ultra-wealthy.

In addition to becoming a yacht owner, Alcaraz will serve as a brand ambassador for Sunreef Ultima, a partnership that was announced at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. In an interview with SuperYacht Times, he shared his motivation for this investment, saying, “I think it was two years ago when I realised how beautiful it is and how comfortable I feel every time I’m on a boat.”

Living in Murcia, where the weather is pleasant year-round and the sea is nearby, Alcaraz felt a strong desire to own a yacht for the past two years. He also credited his idol, Rafael Nadal, for influencing his decision to invest in a Sunreef yacht, as Nadal himself is an owner of one.

While the exact cost of Alcaraz's yacht remains undisclosed, estimates suggest it could range from £4.1 million to £6.8 million, highlighting the magnitude of his investment. Other notable yacht owners include Formula One driver Fernando Alonso and football star Robert Lewandowski.

For Alcaraz, this purchase is not merely about luxury; it represents a means of finding balance in his life. With a demanding schedule and the pressures of public scrutiny, he views the yacht as a personal sanctuary. He stated, “My schedule is really tight, so for me the main reason is to relax and have a place to turn off my mind and be apart from tennis.” He plans to use the yacht for summer trips or short getaways, emphasizing the importance of having a space to unwind with close friends and family.
