Arnav Paparkar's French Open Performance

Arnav Paparkar had a commendable performance in the boys' singles at the French Open, but his campaign concluded with a loss to the fourth seed, Jack Kennedy from the United States, in the round of 16. Throughout the tournament, Arnav demonstrated impressive skills, showcasing his potential to represent India in men's tennis. While India has produced numerous exceptional doubles players, representation in singles has been less frequent.

The 18-year-old began his French Open journey with a challenging match against Vincent Reisach, managing to secure a victory with scores of 7-6, 6-4. Despite facing constant pressure from Reisach, Arnav's strong baseline game and mental resilience helped him prevail. He then faced Taiwan's Kuan Shou Chen in the second round, where he significantly improved his performance, winning decisively with a score of 6-2, 6-4.

However, the match against Jack Kennedy was anticipated to be difficult due to Kennedy's strong clay court background. Paparkar fought valiantly in the first set but ultimately lost 7-5. In the second set, Kennedy showcased his skills, winning 6-2 and concluding Arnav's promising run in the tournament.

He has consistently performed well in junior events, boasting an impressive win rate of 71%, with 105 victories against just 43 losses. His strongest performances have been on hard courts, where he has won 89 out of 105 matches. On clay, he has a win percentage of 68, with 15 wins and seven losses. Arnav has also claimed six junior titles, with his most significant victory occurring at a J200 event in Kuala Lumpur earlier this year. As he turns 18, he will no longer be eligible to compete in junior tennis after this calendar year.
