Teen Archer Prithika Pradeep Shines with Bronze at World Cup in Madrid!
Prithika Pradeep's Remarkable Achievement
Madrid: Young archer Prithika Pradeep made headlines by defeating Turkey's world No. 11, Hazal Burun, with a score of 145-142, securing her first World Cup bronze medal on Saturday.
This victory marked a significant achievement for the 17-year-old, who also contributed to India's silver medal in the women's compound team event earlier.
With this performance, India concluded their compound events with two medals and is poised to compete for additional medals in the recurve category on Sunday.
After a close semifinal loss to Malaysia's Fatin Nurfatehah Mat Salleh, where she scored 142-144, Prithika had to battle for the bronze.
In her first World Cup medal match, Prithika initially seemed anxious as Hazal started strong with three perfect 10s. However, she gradually recovered, winning the second end 29-28 and leveling the score at 87-all with three flawless arrows in the third end.
In a nail-biting finish, Prithika needed an eight on her final arrow but delivered a perfect 10, clinching her bronze medal.
Earlier in the day, the Indian team, consisting of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika, and Chikitha Taniparthi, faced a tough challenge against Colombia in the women's compound team final, ultimately settling for silver with a score of 228-232.
