Earlier in the match, K.B. Arun Karthik played a crucial role for Nellai, scoring a resilient 67 runs off 43 balls. However, once Surya took the stage, the momentum shifted dramatically. The Panthers' bowlers, especially Surya, maintained pressure throughout the innings, preventing Nellai from establishing a rhythm.

Match Overview: Rain Delays and Bowling Dominance

The match faced a 35-minute rain delay before commencing, and once it did, Nellai's bowlers quickly took control, reducing Madurai to a precarious 26 for 3 within just four overs. Opener Ram Arvindh was dismissed early, while Rocky Bhasker claimed two vital wickets, intensifying the pressure on Madurai.

A partnership between B. Anirudh and Atheeq Ur Rahman provided some stability, scoring 21 runs off an over from off-spinner P.S. Nirmal Kumar, which shifted the momentum temporarily. The pair added 61 runs before Anirudh fell to Sonu, who later returned to take two more wickets, finishing with a three-wicket haul.

Madurai found themselves at 125 for 8, but a late surge from Gurjapneet Singh, who scored 24 runs off just 8 balls, along with P. Saravanan's 16 not out off 10 balls, propelled them to a total of 168 for 9. Although this target seemed modest, Surya's extraordinary performance in the 19th over turned the tide, leading Madurai to a memorable victory.
