Sunil Narine Attributes Success to Hard Work

Star all-rounder Sunil Narine of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) attributed the team's recent success to diligent effort and thorough preparation after their impressive victory against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday night. He expressed confidence in maintaining their winning streak in upcoming matches, regardless of the tournament format. Key contributions came from Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and Cameron Green with the bat, alongside Narine's bowling prowess, leading KKR to a 29-run win in the IPL 2026.


"Success comes from hard work. The team has been preparing diligently, putting in the necessary effort, and it’s paying off. We aim to keep winning, no matter what challenges lie ahead," Narine stated post-match.


Narine Reaches 200 IPL Matches Milestone

Narine made history by becoming the first overseas player and the 13th overall to reach 200 appearances in the IPL. Reflecting on this achievement, he described it as a significant milestone in his lengthy and fulfilling career, considering it a blessing. Narine expressed his desire to continue performing well and playing for several more seasons, stating, "I hope to play many more matches. This journey has been long, and I look forward to continuing to deliver strong performances."


Ajinkya Rahane Commends Team's Performance

KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane lauded his team's efforts, particularly praising the explosive batting from Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and Cameron Green, along with the solid bowling from Saurabh Dubey and Kartik Tyagi. He expressed his happiness with the victory and emphasized the importance of trusting the players' skills. Allen led the scoring with a remarkable 93 runs off just 35 balls, while Raghuvanshi supported with a commendable 82 off 44 balls. Green capped off the innings with an unbeaten 52 runs from 28 balls, propelling KKR to a formidable total of 247.


"It was a great game. I’m really pleased with the two points. It was humid, but I’m thrilled with how we started, especially after losing the toss. The performances from Finn, Angkrish, and Cameron were outstanding. They consistently put pressure on quality bowlers, which was impressive," Rahane remarked.


"Additionally, Saurabh Dubey has been exceptional, and Kartik has also performed well. Overall, it was a fantastic effort from the bowling unit, and it’s crucial to trust their abilities," he added.
