A Heartfelt Tribute to Virat Kohli

An emotional tribute unfolded when a student paid homage to Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli following his retirement from Test cricket. Kohli stepped away from the longest format of the game a few weeks ago, and recently, a video surfaced showing the student proudly showcasing Kohli's T20I jersey during their graduation ceremony.

Helinkumar Vasantbhai Chaudhari, a student from Northeastern University pursuing a Master of Professional Studies in Informatics, took to the stage holding Kohli’s jersey aloft. The name and number were prominently visible as he presented the jersey to the audience.

Kohli concluded his Test career after participating in 123 matches, amassing 9,230 runs, which included 31 centuries and 30 fifties. He also retired from T20I cricket after the 2024 T20I World Cup, and will now focus solely on One Day Internationals (ODIs) for India.

Currently, there is a chance for Kohli to finally secure the IPL trophy, a significant title that has eluded him thus far. He has been with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) since the league's inception in 2008, with the team reaching the finals in 2009, 2011, and 2016, yet failing to clinch the championship.

In the ongoing 2025 IPL season, RCB has once again reached the finals and will compete against either the Mumbai Indians or Punjab Kings on Tuesday, June 3rd.

Kohli has had an outstanding season, scoring 614 runs across 14 matches with an impressive average of 55.81 and a strike rate of 146.53. He has achieved eight half-centuries, each contributing to his team's victories. Fans are eagerly anticipating whether Kohli will finally lift the coveted IPL trophy.
