Reports indicate that Dickwella, who intervened to de-escalate a confrontation between Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Halambage, faced punishment for making excessive appeals in a match against India. Meanwhile, Halambage received a sanction for making derogatory comments towards Indian batters after a Super Over victory, which nearly led to a physical altercation with the young Indian talent.

Details of the Sooryavanshi-Halambage Incident

Footage has emerged showing other Indian players expressing their displeasure over the behavior of the Sri Lankan team. During the customary handshake, one Indian player confronted the Sri Lankans aggressively, clearly displaying his frustration. It remains uncertain whether Indian players, including Sooryavanshi and captain Tilak Varma, received formal penalties or merely warnings after arguing with umpires about the Super Over being conducted in poor lighting conditions. BCCI's Stance on the Incident

There are speculations that the BCCI may reprimand Sooryavanshi for his altercation with the Sri Lankan players, as physical confrontations are against ICC regulations. However, in a recent interview, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated that no such actions are being considered. "Our focus is on the TRI-series where India is competing against two strong opponents, and we want the players to remain focused on the tournament rather than being sidetracked by other issues," Saikia remarked.
